The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the notification for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026. This national-level entrance exam is the mandatory gateway for students seeking admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, BHMS, and BSc Nursing courses across India.

Important Dates (Latest Updates)

The NTA has recently extended the registration deadline to ensure all eligible candidates can apply.

  • Notification Release: February 8, 2026
  • Application Start Date: February 8, 2026
  • Last Date to Apply Online: March 11, 2026 (Extended)
  • Last Date for Fee Payment: March 11, 2026 (upto 11:50 PM)
  • Correction Window: To be notified soon
  • Admit Card Release: April 29, 2026 (Tentative)
  • NEET UG 2026 Exam Date: May 3, 2026 (Sunday)
  • Result Declaration: June 2026


Application Fee

The fee varies based on the candidate's category and can be paid online via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

1️⃣ General 

  • Application Fee (In India) - ₹ 1,700/-
  • Outside India - ₹ 9,500/-

2️⃣ General-EWS / OBC-NCL 

  • Application Fee (In India) - ₹ 1,600/-
  • Outside India - ₹ 9,500/-

3️⃣ SC / ST / PH / Transgender

  • Application Fee (In India) - ₹ 1,000/-
  • Outside India - ₹ 9,500/


Eligibility Criteria

Before filling out the form, candidates must ensure they meet the following requirements:

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 17 years (Candidate must be born on or before December 31, 2009).
  • Maximum Age: There is currently no upper age limit for appearing in NEET UG.

Educational Qualification

  • Passed or appearing in 10+2 (Intermediate) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) as core subjects.
  • Minimum aggregate marks in PCB: 50% for General, 40% for SC/ST/OBC, and 45% for PwD.

Identity Proof

An Aadhaar Card is compulsory for all Indian nationals during registration.


Exam Pattern & Syllabus

The NEET UG 2026 will be conducted in an offline (Pen-and-Paper) mode.

  • Duration: 3 hours 20 minutes (200 minutes).
  • Total Marks: 720.
  • Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology).
  • Marking Scheme: +4 for every correct answer; -1 for every incorrect answer.


Important Instructions for Documents

  • Live Photo Capture: A new requirement for 2026 is the capture of a live photo during the application process.
  • Passport Size Photo: Must have a white background, with the candidate's name and the date of the photo printed at the bottom.
  • Postcard Size Photo: 4"x6" size is also required.
  • Left & Right Hand Fingers/Thumb Impression: Scanned copies are mandatory.

  • Fill in the basic details to generate an Application Number and Password.
  • Complete the application form with educational and personal details.
  • Upload the scanned documents and capture the live photo as per NTA guidelines.
  • Pay the examination fee online.
